Not being clear on certain issues can not only cost you a lot of money, the can sometimes make or break your event. How long have you been in business?

The Music Concierge was founded in 2010. Over the years we’ve grown from a one-person operation to a team 8 DJs and 3 professional photographers.

How much school experience do you have?

We’ve been involved with school events since our founding in 2010. We have several DJs on staff with more than 10 years of school dance DJ experience. Combined, we’ve done 100s of school events in Greater Cincinnati, Greater Dayton, and Northern Kentucky.

 

What music will you play?

We play a wide variety of popular radio-edited, kid-friendly music that will keep the dance floor busy all night long. Our DJs subscribe to DJ-exclusive music pools to ensure we have access to the latest songs!

 

How do you motivate the crowd?

There are many ways to motivate your crowd. Our DJs are trained in the arts of public speaking, beat mixing, and ‘reading the dance floor’. A talented DJ can keep the dance floor busy with song selection and beat mixing. When mixing is done correctly, the kids will never lose the beat. When done poorly there’s either awkward silence between songs or a jumble of music that is hard to dance to. Depending on the type of event, we can inspire your guests with crowd participation contests, games, line dances, team building activities, taking requests and more. 

 

How much should I pay for a DJ?

This is one of the most common questions for DJs. There’s an old saying that you get what you pay for. When it comes to entertainment for your school event it is especially true. The prices we quote are directly related to the type of school event (ie Home Coming, Prom, the level of production for your event.) We’ve produced school events of almost every size; From the basic laptop and two speakers setup to $10,000+ themed productions with video projection, lighting, photo booths and everything in between. Our most popular packages range from $600-$2000. 

 

Are you insured?

This is one of the most important questions to ask. If you are hiring someone for a professional service, regardless of the industry, they should be insured. We carry a full liability insurance policy in the amount of $1,000,000. This will protect you, the DJ and the venue from any unfortunate circumstances. A copy of our Certificate of Liability Insurance can be emailed upon request.

 

Do you offer written contracts?

A written contract is extremely important. It helps all parties by setting expectations by clearly stating what you want and what we promise to deliver. We offer online e-sign contracts that you simply read and sign in your password protected client site. You’ll never have to run to the post office or fax machine to book your event. In fact, booking your entertainment and managing your event details are so convenient and easy that most of our clients do it on their mobile devices

 

Can we see you at a booking?

You’re more than welcome to come see us at any public event. For private events, we need to ask for the host’s permission. Would you like some unfamiliar people popping up in the middle of your birthday or wedding? You may not mind, but some do. We have plenty of videos and photos on our social media pages. What equipment do you use?

Our DJ’s bring a variety of state-of-the-art equipment to every event. The specific equipment being used can vary depending on the type of event, the venue, as well as the genre of music being played. We also have backup equipment, as well as party lighting, uplighting and wireless microphones for toasts, speeches or karaoke sessions. Music Requests/Do Not Play List:

We are always open to taking requests. Our extensive consultation forms are designed to uncover and develop your “musical profile.” They cover things like genres of music you want to hear, your favorite artists and bands, your must play genres, artists, and songs and other details. We serve at your pleasure, so if you would like us to take requests during your event we certainly will do our best to accommodate them. Our DJs have wireless internet access and software that allows us to download and play the newest releases. During your consultation, our DJ will also discuss with you what songs should not be played. We want you to have your event, your way.

 

What other services/enhancements do you offer?

We’ve partnered with two of the largest productions companies in the midwest so that we can offer concert-grade equipment at your school dance! There are just a couple of companies in our area doing this.  We also provide party enhancements that will put your event over the top such as our state-of-the-art Mirror Booth, Dance Cam, CO2 Cannons, Live Social Wall, Uplighting, just to name a few!
