What does it take to be a good DJ? It takes practice, practice, and more practice to be a good DJ. Being a professional is about what you do and how you do it. I have the goal to improve on what I know by learning something new every time I DJ an event. Besides technical skills like beat matching and mixing (tempo, key, & song selection), preparation, organization and the ability to "read the crowd" are key to being a good DJ. Renee did a fantastic job as the DJ for our wedding and I would highly recommend her to anyone! She was entirely professional but still approachable and responsive to our needs. My fiancee was especially concerned about the volume not being too loud at the reception and she kept everything at the perfect level - great for dancing but not ear-splitting to those in the back corners of the room. She kept the party going until the venue had to kick us out. Many of my guests even took the time to mention what a fun reception it was and that Renee in particular had done such a good job with the music.
